Testing the Medic App

KTag After Action Report

Event Overview

  • Event Name: Testing the Medic App
  • Date/Location: July 4th, 2024 / Dubuque
  • Participants: Uncle Joe and the KKids
  • Equipment Used:
    • 2020TPC: Software version 5cb874b4942801ca282c5df38a9d94294a8498b6
    • King of the Hill App: 704407c756626f4e13ce1f173567c0c81ffb9b21
    • Medic App: 02c1eb15dcc3ca8b0d15f73cd9e5609752006ee3

We had uneven numbers, five (red) against four (blue). This wasn’t the problem it might have been due to a functioning medic app, which kept the players in the game.

Environmental Conditions

  • Weather: 71F, 87% humidity, mostly cloudy
  • Terrain: Hilly (it’s Dubuque!)
  • Impact on Performance: I was soaking wet after one ten-minute game.

Performance Analysis

  • Successful Actions:
  • Challenges Faced:
  • Equipment Issues: We had no hardware issues; all our problems were software.
    • The KotH app did not score properly the second game we played. New this time was the “reset” feature, which must not be working. More investigation is required.
    • Some of the 2020TPCs got into a state where they showed up on the Medic app, but could not be healed.
    • MQTT struggled. I think this was because the phones had problems reconnecting to the WiFi when we moved them.
